Heating and Cooling in Charles Town, West Virginia

For HVAC services in Charles Town, WV, Brick Street Plumbing Heat & Air sends licensed and insured technicians to repair, replace, install and maintain heating and cooling equipment in homes and businesses. That covers central air conditioners, gas and electric furnaces, heat pumps, boilers and ductless mini splits. We take calls 24/7, and a late-night breakdown is billed at the same rate as a midday visit because we charge no overtime fees. Call (240) 969-4911, describe what the system is doing, and we will tell you what needs a closer look.

Charles Town gets all four seasons in full. Summer afternoons in the Eastern Panhandle turn hot and sticky, and winter brings runs of freezing nights, so most houses here lean hard on their equipment in both directions. A system that limps through July often fails on the first cold snap of the fall. Our job is to find those weak points early and fix them properly when they do appear. For water heaters, drains and other plumbing work in town, see our Charles Town, WV page.

Heating and Cooling Work We Handle in Charles Town

Installation, replacement, maintenance and repair across every common system type.

All services
Air conditioner repair

Air conditioner repair

Warm air from the vents, a frozen refrigerant line, or an outdoor unit that hums without starting. We trace the fault and fix it once you approve the work.

Furnace repair

Furnace repair

No heat, short cycling, a burner that lights and then drops out, or a blower that will not shut off. We work on gas and electric furnaces.

Heat pump repair

Heat pump repair

A heat pump that blows cool air in heating mode or ices over and stays that way usually points to the reversing valve, defrost controls or refrigerant charge.

New system installation

New system installation

Replacement equipment gets sized to the house, not copied from the old unit's label, and set up to the manufacturer's specifications.

Seasonal maintenance

Seasonal maintenance

A spring cooling check and a fall heating check catch worn parts, dirty coils and weak capacitors before they leave you without comfort.

Emergency calls

Equipment failures ignore business hours. We answer around the clock, and the rate stays the same after dark.

LICENSED AND INSURED

Why Licensing and Insurance Matter on an HVAC Job

Heating and cooling equipment involves gas piping, high-voltage wiring and pressurized refrigerant. A licensed technician has shown the training to handle all three, and insurance protects you if something unexpected happens on your property during the job. Our technicians are dual-certified in plumbing and HVAC and factory-certified on the equipment we install. That mix pays off on calls where the trades overlap. A condensate line backing up into a basement, a boiler with a weeping relief valve, or a furnace sharing a flue with a gas water heater are all problems where one visit from someone who understands both sides saves you a second appointment. When the work is done, we walk you through what we found and what we changed, so the next odd noise is easier to judge. The same care applies to installations. Before a new furnace, air conditioner or heat pump goes in, we check the gas supply, the electrical circuit, the venting and the condition of the ducts it will connect to. Fixing a weak link at that stage costs far less than chasing a problem after the new equipment is running.

Fantastic service - bought a home with a very old hot water heater, and Brick Street’s quote came out to be substantially less than the other plumbers I spoke with. No compromise on service for the price, though - Mary was incredibly responsive and friendly when it came to scheduling a time to install the new water heater, and Tylerr did an outstanding job getting the water heater set up and running. Overall very easy to work with, reasonably priced, and professional!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Excellent Service – Highly Recommend Brick Street Plumbing Water Heaters I recently had my entire HVAC system replaced after my old unit had been in my home for over 20 years. I requested an estimate through Home Depot, and they referred me to Brick Street Plumbing. Water Heaters, From beginning to end, my experience was excellent! Brian came to my home, carefully explained the different options available, and walked me through the entire installation process. He was very professional, knowledgeable, patient, and always available to answer my questions. Communication with Brian was outstanding throughout the entire project. One of the best parts of the installation was that they were able to relocate my water heater into an unused space in my basement. This made the entire HVAC area much more spacious, organized, and accessible. I am extremely happy with how everything turned out! I also want to recognize Austin, Gmo, and Dani for their excellent work. They were professional, hardworking, respectful of my home, and paid great attention to detail. Update 10/2/2026 The manager got in touch with us and promptly sent out a service technician that was able to quickly diagnose and troubleshoot the issue with our thermostat. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ We got our AC replaced by Brick Street through Home Depot. After a week our AC wasn't working so we had to put in a service call. They came out and fixed it. Then our heating wasn't working and we put in a service call to have a tech come out to and troubleshoot but their HVAC department has been non responsive via email or voice mail. We are not able to get in contact with them at all. Will not be doing business with this company again. Very poor customer service.

Frequently asked questions

Do you handle both heating and air conditioning in Charles Town, WV?
Yes. We repair, maintain and install furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, boilers and ductless mini splits throughout Charles Town. Because our technicians are certified in both plumbing and HVAC, we can also deal with related issues like a clogged condensate drain, a boiler that needs piping work, or a gas line question during a furnace swap. One call covers the whole job, and you are not left coordinating two different contractors.
How often should an HVAC system be serviced in the Eastern Panhandle?
Twice a year is the usual recommendation: once in spring before the cooling season and once in fall before the heat comes on. Heat pumps do both jobs, so they benefit most from two visits. A tune-up includes cleaning coils, checking electrical connections and capacitors, testing safety controls, measuring airflow and clearing the condensate drain. Between visits, changing the air filter on schedule is the most useful thing a homeowner can do.
Should I repair or replace an old air conditioner in Charles Town?
It depends on the age of the unit, the cost and type of the repair, and how often it has failed lately. A bad capacitor or contactor on an otherwise healthy system is almost always worth fixing. A failed compressor on an older unit that uses an outdated refrigerant is often a good moment to replace. We lay out both options, with what each one involves, and let you decide.
Is HVAC service more expensive at night or on weekends?
Not with Brick Street. We do not charge overtime fees, so a call at 11pm on a Saturday is billed the same as one at noon on a Tuesday. That matters most in winter, when a furnace or heat pump that quits overnight can leave a house dangerously cold, and in summer heat waves when waiting until Monday is not a real option for many households.
Do you work on HVAC systems in Charles Town businesses?
Yes. Along with homes, we service heating and cooling equipment for small businesses and offices in the Charles Town area. Rooftop units, split systems, ductless setups and boilers all fall within what our technicians handle. If a breakdown is affecting customers or staff, call us any hour and we will talk through the symptoms and get a technician scheduled.
